Hey there!

While my journey to Product Design hasn't been straight forward, I have always had a zeal for people and design. During my undergraduate career I studied psychology and art, where I found a passion for understanding the way that people think and behave as well as a keen eye for design. These passions led to a career in Art Therapy, working one on one with clients to meet their goals and live better lives. Developing treatment plans with clients and working with care teams to make sure that client's needs were being met at every level of care was rewarding, but I often heard from clients that they were frustrated by certain systems that were in place. There were many hoops that clients had to jump through to receive certain services, which left them frustrated or forlorn. I decided to take a step back and imagine a world where I got to design better systems for people.

For the past six years I have worked as the Coffee Director for a small business. Through this role I have worked collaboratively to adapt and grow a business and community in an ever changing climate (see Covid-19). During my tenure I have cultivated a reputation for being a team player, self starter, and empathetic leader. It is through my role as Coffee Director that I also reignited my love for visual design by developing  branding and marketing strategies for a new coffee roasting program. I knew that I was happiest when I got to stretch my creative muscle and solve problems for people, which is how I came to Product Design. 

I have had a steadfast goal throughout my career to help people overcome barriers in order to live better lives and improve their well-being, and I believe Product Design is a great conduit for this goal. I understand that elegant, simple, and intentional designs can aid solutions to complex problems that users face, and I work diligently to manifest this in my own design work.
